What is the best weight-loss, definition-building techniques I can apply in 6 months?

I’m getting married in 6 months and I had an epiphany this morning that I have let myself go! I’ve always been a curvy girl (which I am very happy with) but I stopped going to the gym about 3 months ago and I’ve been eating rubbish. The diet part I can fix myself, I know what I shouldn’t be eating and I dont find it too difficult to steer away from them, but I’m really not sure what I should be doing at the gym to get results. I want to firm up my arms, stomach, hips and thighs, and I would ideally like to lose between 1 and 2 stones before the wedding. Is this possible or am I kidding myself? Should I concentrate on cardio in the gym or on weights? I would be planning to go the gym now 5 days out of 7 (giving me a Sunday off and a day during the week), should I work to a specific plan?

I have been watching that biggest loser show and they always say having strength training and cardio together helps you burn twice the calories.
